General Information

The University of Northern Iowa Summer Sports Camp program is designed for both boys and girls from ages 7 to 18. Each individual camp has its own age requirements. We encourage each potential camper to attend as many different camps as possible. Our camps are designed and run by our coaches and will help each athlete develop at his or her own level. Each camp has a maximum enrollment so enroll early!

University of Northern Iowa head varsity coaches, who rank among the finest in the country, direct the UNI Sports Camps. The importance of balancing athletics, academics, and social life is a meaningful philosophy that is incorporated in the camp curriculum. The skill level and individual development of each camper is taken into consideration when the coaches organize campers in training groups. Each coach personally selects and trains a teaching staff made up of other coaches and outstanding college athletes. Their enthusiasm, interest, and experience working with young athletes are a special quality of the Sports Camps.

Camp Highlights

  • A  full schedule of instruction and playing time, with emphasis on the fundamentals
  • Personalized instruction from UNI's Division I coaches.
  • Increased sports performance through demonstrations, drills, and competition
  • Opportunity to meet other athletes from around the country and the world
  • Hands on experience of campus life
  • Exciting recreation & free-time activities planned throughout camp

Resident and Commuter Plans

Most of our camps offer you the choice between being a resident camper or a commuter camper. Resident campers are those who choose to live on campus in our residence halls. Counselors are available for each camp and also stay in the dorms. Commuter campers are those who choose to stay at home and come to camp each day. Please note that not all camps offer the resident plan, so check for different options.

Rooming

Resident Campers wishing to room together need to arrive at check in the day of the camp together. We do not assign rooms until campers come to check in. When they check in, we will assign them a room. We have two campers to each room.

Meals and Lodging

Meals and Lodging will be in University dining and residence halls. The Resident Plan includes full room and board. The Commuter Plan does not typically include any meals unless stated. Meals may be available for an additional charge. All Campers will eat in the Piazza, which is an All-You-Can-Eat dining facility.

Camp Eligibility (for high school seniors)

NCAA regulations do allow any student who has already begun classes for his/her senior year of high school, or who is eligible for admission to other collegiate institutions to attend Northern Iowa Sports Camps.

Camp Fees

The charge for UNI's Summer Sports Camps varies depending upon a number of factors. Each athletic program determines their camp price based on expenses. Resident campers are charged for housing and meals. All Panther Sports Camps, other than team camps require full payment with the registration

After we receive your registration, we will send you a confirmation letter. Registration confirmation will be sent within two (2) weeks of receipt of your registration.

Each camper is required to fill out the Release and Medical Authorization form prior to their camp. This form must be signed by a parent. If this form is not filled out, the individual will not be allowed to participate.

Payment / Refund

Register Early! Due to limited enrollment, it is important that you register early as camps may fill up. All Panther Sports Camps require full payment with registration. No refunds will be given without a medical notice signed by a doctor. There will be a $25 administration portion of every registration that is non-refundable

Health and Insurance

The parent/guardian's personal or injury insurance policy will be utilized as the primary insurance for the treatment of injuries and hospitalization for illness or injuries incurred during the sports camp. A release and medical authorization form must be filled out before any camper can participate in our camps. This form is included on each of our brochures.

Brochure Request

A brochure can be requested by phone, letter, fax, or e-mail directed to the Sports Camp Office at the following numbers. Be sure to include a full name, address, and the specific sport(s) brochure requested.
